Pourarab, Abolfazl (born June 23, 1961, Tehran)
Pourarab is a graduate of Theater Acting and Directing from Art College in Tehran.
He began his career with theater in 1980 and made his first cinema appearance by acting a short role in the movie ‘Plectrum’ (1983).
His cinema career boosted after starring in ‘The Bride’ (1990), which led him to many leading roles in the movies of 1990s.
In 1994, Pourarab received awards of the 9th Fajr International Film Festival and Pyongyang International Film Festival for his role in ‘The Bride’.
He also received the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Leading Role for ‘A Man Like Rain’ (1996) at the 15th edition of Fajr Film Festival.
He has acted in movies such as 'The Victim' (1991), 'The Hidden Paradise' (1994), 'Restless' (1994), 'In Cold Blood' (1994), 'Like a Stranger' (1997), 'A Man Made of Glass' (1998), 'Corrupted Hands' (1998), 'Tick' (2001), 'How Much for You to Cry?' (2005), 'Crazy for Leili' (2007), 'Proud' (2007), and 'Extreme Cold' (2009).
He has also made appearances in TV series such as ‘The Loneliest Commander’ (1997), ‘The Passenger’ (1999-2000), 'Confidant' (2001), 'Until Dusk' (2005), 'The Basement' (2006), 'The Last Heist' (2009), and 'Code White' (2011).
