Leila Barkhordari

Barkhordari, Leila (born May 11, 1978, Tehran) 

Leila Barkhordari graduated from the Iranian Youth Cinema Society. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Acting and a Master's degree in Directing from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran.

Besides her academic studies, she also took a course in the acting school of the Veteran actor Hamid Samandarian. 

She played the character of a mentally-handicapped girl called Kobra in the drama 'Asleep and Awake' (2002), which made her a household name.

Barkhordari also dabbled her hand in writing and directing a short film.

She has appeared in various movies, such as 'The Wolf’s Smile' (2014), and played roles in several TV series, including  'Youth' (2001), 'Time of Rebellion' (2001), 'The Third Sense'  (2004), 'Cry Out in Silence' (2006), 'Building No. 85' (2010), 'The Line' (2014) and 'Cloudy Years' (2014).

She was awarded at the Student Theatre Festival for her performance in the play 'Goodbye'.
