Iranian film ‘Axing’ has been honored at the London Iranian Film Festival.
Directed by Behrouz Shoeibi, the film was selected as the best film from audiences’ choice at the 9th edition of the event.
The social drama features a different narrative on how people confront addiction and drug abuse.
"Everyone has something to hold on to," a tagline for the film sums up.
'Axing' is Shoeibi’s third directorial offering after successful movies ‘The Corridor’ and ‘Cyanide’.
The flick has notable Iranian stars such as Mahnaz Afshar, Jamshid Hashempour, Sara Bahrami, Hadi Hejazifar, Negar Abedi, and Amin Hayaee in the cast.
The flick had 10 nominations in the 36th edition of Fajr Film Festival in Iran and scored 2 Crystal Simorgh awards at the event.
The 9th London Iranian Film Festival is an annual, independent film festival dedicated to Iranian independent cinema and is to be run till November 3, 2018.
