Manouchehr Hadi’s latest comedy ‘Rahman 1400’ has broken a new record in Iranian box office sales.
According to latest Iran box office chart, the film hit the gross of 150 billion rials, maintaining top position and furthering its distance from the second movie on the list.
The film also broke the record of most sales by an Iranian comedy during the Persian New Year holiday screenings.
Second place on the list was Saeed Roustaee’s crime-drama ‘6.5 Tomans per Meter’ with just under 110 billion rials in sales.
Produced by Ali Sartipi, ‘Rahman 1400’ tells the story of a man named Rahman (Saeed Aqakhani) who deals with severe financial issues and decides to seek help from a company’s managing director, Mr. Jalousi (Mehran Modiri).
Mr. Jalousi proceeds to write Rahman a check, however, he postdates it for the year 2021 (1400 Persian Calendar Year) when the story begins.
