‘A Private Meeting’ directed by Farhad Gharibi has won award at the 20th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival.
The 2019 jury award for Best Narrative Short Film was bestowed to Gharibi for the story of a young woman whose husband is doing time in jail.
She refuses to do anything illegal to make ends meet for her little daughter and herself. She has another plan on her mind to earn some money.
The short film has already taken part at Trenton and Newport Beach film festivals in the US as well as the 47th Huesca International Film Festival in Spain. Its recent participation was at the 37th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.
Celebrated as one of the leading lifestyle film festivals in the United States, the 20th Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) featured films from 56 countries all around the world.
The eight-day event took place on April 26- May 2, 2019.
