Iranian short animation ‘The White Whale’ is scheduled to be ready by fall.
Directed by Amir Mehran, the short animated piece will be a joint production between the director and the Documentary and Experimental Film Center.
Production for the animated piece began about a year ago and is expected to wrap up sometime in September or October of this year, according to the director.
The 8-minute piece is a story about a war veteran, still in a war-time mindset even though years have passed since the war, searching for the bodies of his fellow comrades whom he lost at one point during the war, never to be found again.
The production crew consists of writer and director Amir Mehran, character designer Abolfazl Boroumandi, set designer Naim Azad, animator Jalal Naimi, storyboard creator Ammar Ghanbarzadeh, and producers Amir Mehran and the Documentary and Experimental Film Center.
