The review session for Iranian documentary ‘Finding Farideh’ has been held.
Co-directed by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataee, the film held a review session in the presence of artists and filmmakers.
The doc has been recently selected to represent Iran at the 2020 Oscars ceremony.
The film was selected from a final shortlist which included Reza Mirkarimi’s ‘Castle of Dreams’ and ‘6.5 Per Meter’ by Saeed Roustaee.
The story of 'Finding Farideh' begins with a newspaper report which reads a young woman who was adopted by a Dutch family is looking for her biological parents.
The documentary was screened at the 16th Big Sky Film Festival in the US and the 5th Iranian Film Festival of Zurich in Switzerland.
'Finding Farideh' also represented Iran at the 2018 Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in Australia.
The documentary has received various awards at several festivals, including the Cinema Verite (international documentary film festival) in Iran and Iran Documentary Independent Award.
