Iran hosting International Moving Film Festival

The Arvand Free Zone in Iran is hosting the 12th Int'l Moving Film Festival.

The Arvand Free Zone in southwestern Iran is hosting the 12th edition of the International Moving Film Festival, an annual mobile event.

The International Moving Film Festival is an annual international event dedicated for independent filmmakers. 

Unlike other festivals, the festival announces its winners before it opens.

Special Jury Mention (Feature Film-Fiction): ‘Fever’ from India

Best Short Film-Fiction: ‘Fish’ from Iran

Special Jury Mention -Short Film-Fiction: ‘It’s Not Over Yet’ from Mauritania

Best Feature Film-Documentary: ‘Home in a Foreign Land’ from Costa Rica

Best Short Film-Documentary: ‘The White Spring’ from Iraq

Best Animation: ‘Florigami’ from Serbia

Best Video Art: ‘Beyond the Sea’ from Mexico

Best Student Short Film-Fiction: ‘Poetry of Whispers’ from India

Best Student-Documentary: ‘Zanmi’ from Chile

Best Student Video Art: ‘Egyptian Fairy Tale’ from Russia

Special Jury award-Short Films – Documentary: ‘Education on the Boat -A New Hope for Tomorrow_02’ from Bangladesh

Special Jury award-Short Films – Fiction: ‘Human Cargo Aiman’ from Malaysia

Special Jury Award-Student Short film Fiction: ‘Naisula’ from Kenya

The mobile film festival is established by International Moving Film School (IMOFIS).

The previous editions of the festival were non-competitive and were held in Cuba, Spain, Iraq, Sudan, Malaysia, Colombia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Peru, Tunisia, Morocco and some parts of Iran.

In 2019, Mahmoud-Reza Sani, the head of the festival, decided to make it more formal and changed it to a competitive one.

This year’s edition of the festival kicked off on November 8 and is set to come to an end on November 15.
