Estonian POFF to host ‘The Third Person’

Iran’s ‘The Third Person’ is to vie at the Tallinn Black Nights filmfest in Estonia.

Iranian short flick ‘The Third Person’ has been selected to compete at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (POFF) in Estonia.

The film, written and directed by Pouya Aminpour, will join the New Talents Competition at the 24th edition of the Estonian event, which will be held on November 13-29, 2020.

‘The Third Person’ is about a psychopath who escapes from a sanatorium in the northern forests of Iran, and the patrol units nearby follow him on the surrounding roads.

The short work has been screened at a number of global events, including the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea and the Lund Fantastic Film Festival in Sweden.

Hosting filmmakers and journalists from around the world, the POFF is one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe.

The festival screens around 250 features and more than 300 shorts and animations each year.

The 24th edition of the fest will be a hybrid event with both physical and online screening due to the coronavirus pandemic.
