The holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), the sister of Imam Reza (AS), in Qom has opened the 15th edition of the Imam Reza (AS) International Festival.
Inaugurated on Tuesday, marking the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), the ten-day festival is offering a wide range of programs in 31 Iranian provinces and 70 countries around the world.
According to the organizers the programs are scheduled to include film screening sessions, theater performances, book exhibitions, art expos and cultural seminars.
Mashhad’s Astan-e Qods Razavi Museum and Library has set to hold several expos on the main theme of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of the Shia Muslims.
The Astan-e Qods Library is hosting manuscripts, documents, and artworks exhibitions as well as book exhibitions.
Concurrent with the festival in Qom and Mashhad, the Razavi Theater Festival which is an event dedicated to plays on religious themes is scheduled to be held in Bojnurd, the capital of North Razavi Province.
The capital city of Tehran is also hosting several programs in a number of cultural centers across the city. Tehran programs are arranged in collaboration with the Art and Culture Organization of Tehran Municipality.
Mashhad, the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2017, will host the festival until August 4 which marks the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS).
