A total of 86 female Iranian documentarians register to participate at Cinema Verite, Iran Int’l Documentary Fest.
According to a local media report published Wednesday, over ten percent of the documentarians are females who requested to screen their latest works at the event.
Among the filmmakers to participate at the festival are Mona Zandi, Roghayeh Tavakkoli, Elham Asadi, Rezvan Sarmad, Golandam Safari, Fatemeh Mousavi, Sara Namjou, Mahnaz Sabour, Farideh Saremi, Elham Maroufi, Maryam Razaghi and Akram Nemati.
The 11th Cinema Verite is aimed at protecting the nation's identity, promoting creative documentary, reinforcing the link between documentary cinema and social facts and events.
The fest also strives to introduce new global developments in documentary cinema, provide financial support for documentarians by distributing and screening their works in other festivals as well as breaking down barriers to film production.
The 11th Cinema Verite is slated for December 10-17, 2017 in Iranian capital city of Tehran.
