Iranian documentary ‘Madam G’ has won an award at the International Image Festival FINI in Mexico.
Directed by Sadegh Souri, the film won the second prize at the student category of the 8th edition of the event.
The documentary narrated the life of Mrs. Rigi, who is appointed the first female governor in Iran in Sistan and Baluchistan Province.
The patriarchal society cannot accept a woman to be the leader of their town, and the rigid atmosphere causes many challenges for her.
The International Image Festival (FINI) is a multidisciplinary encounter to promote, spread and appreciate artistic creation and visual communication in a space of reflection and debate about esthetic, the meaning and value of image in its different genres, expressions and applications.
The event was held on April 26 - May 4, 2018 in Mexico.
