Iranian film ‘Ako’ has won the main award at the 2018 Retro Avant Garde Film Festival in Italy.
‘Ako’ by Nabi Gholizadeh was picked as best feature film at the event.
“Every product has a story and every porter has a secret in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar. Ako does not want anyone to know his secret,” the plot summary reads.
‘Ako’ was previously screened in Turkey, Brazil and the US.
With the belief of promoting art not as a competition but as a celebration of human expression, the Retro Avant Garde Film Festival aka RAGFF was launched on December 09, 2018 in Venice.
The RAGFF aims to host the festival every year at a different city from a different country.
