Iranian feature ‘Being Born’ has kicked off screening at Iran’s Art and Experience cinema group.
Directed by Mohsen Abdolvahab, the film is simultaneously being screened publicly in theaters across the country.
‘Being Born’ is a social drama which tells the story of a middle-aged couple who are faced with a certain dilemma in carrying on with their life.
Starring in the film are Hedayat Hashemi, Elham Kordi, Behnaz Jafari, Sepehrad Farzami, Reza Mortazavi, and Roya Javidnia among others.
Produced by Mohammad Ahmadi, the film received three nominations at the 34th Fajr Film Festival and is finally being screened after three years since its premiere.
Abdolvahab’s fourth feature film has appeared in numerous international film festivals including the Granada International Film Festival in Spain, China’s Shanghai International Film Festival, and the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in France where it received the event’s Grand Prix award.
Iran’s Art and Experience cinema group is dedicated to the screening and promotion of independent, non-commercial Iranian films, focusing on non-conventional methods of expression, artistic form, and cinematic narratives.
