Iranian actress Fatemeh Motamed-Arya has been selected to serve as the president of the Iranian Cine Artists Association.
Motamed-Arya was assigned the title during the first official session of the association, held on May 15, 2019.
The rest of the selections of the association include Atila Pesyani as the vice-president, Ali Dehkordi as the secretary, Fariba Kosari as the treasurer and Habib Rezaee as the spokesperson. Hesam Navab Safavi and Afsaneh Chehrehazad are also among the members.
Born in 1962, Motamed-Arya is a distinguished Iranian actress. She made her cinematic debut with ‘Struggle’.
She later joined Iraj Tahmasb and Hamid Jebeli to become one of the most successful acting trios in the nation, collaborating on blockbusters such as ‘Red Cap and Cousin’, ‘Once Upon A Time’, ‘Confectioner Girl’, ‘Red Cap and Sarvenaz’.
She was nominated for a number of Fajr Festival Crystal Simorghs, including Best Actress Award for ‘Robab’s Dowry’, ‘Reyhaneh’, ‘Blue Scarf’, ‘Love +2’ and ‘Gilaneh’. However her wins have been for the films like ‘Wasteland’, ‘Passengers’,‘Once And For All’, ‘Spouse’.
In 2011, Montreal Film Festival awarded her Best Actress for her role in ‘Here without Me’.
