Three Iranian films vying in Portugal

Three Iranian shorts are vying at the 23rd AVANCA - Int'l Meeting of Cinema, TV, Video and Multimedia in Portugal.

Three Iranian short films have been competing at several sections of the 23rd edition of the AVANCA - International Meeting of Cinema, TV, Video and Multimedia which is currently underway in Portugal.

‘Counting’ directed by Rahil Boustani is participating at the International Competition Video section of the Portuguese event.

Meanwhile, Iranian-Afghan film ‘Elephantbird’ by Amir Masoud Soheili is vying at the International Competition Fiction Short Film section.

The participation of ‘Elephantbird’ in the AVANCA marks the film’s first international appearance.

The third film is Maliheh Ghloamzadeh’s ‘Tangle’ which is competing at the event’s International Competition Animation Short Film section.

The AVANCA Film Festival was established in 1997.

The 23rd edition of the AVANCA kicked off in Portugal on July 24 and will wrap up on July 28, 2019.
