Iran animated film ‘Blowing’ is set to vie at Animafilm Baku International Animation Festival in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The animation’s script written by Mohammad Zare and Rana Vaezi will compete in the Best Original Screenplay for a Short Animated Film.
The selection was made among 13 submitted screenplays to this section of the fest with the committee reviewing 268 applications in all sections from 50 different countries.
The director and screenwriter of the shortlisted animation said, “Writing the script took almost a month to finish,” adding, “The screenplay strand of Baku animation fest was the first film event to submit the work.”
The new title is yet to be created on screen as the director is looking for an executive producer.
Director Zare has award-winning animation ‘The Junk Girl’ on his directorial resume. The flick won the Best Short Animation award at the Borrego Springs Film Festival in the US.
ANIMAFILM is the first international festival of animation art to be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan Republic, from 18 to 20 October 2019. The festival will show dozens of foreign and national animated films for children and adults.
