The 2019 Life After Oil International Film Festival (LAOIFF) in Italy has selected Iran’s short film ‘Breathing’ to go on screen.
Directed by Farshid Ayyoubinejad, the short film narrates the story of some stone factory workers who don't have health care and have to hide in a small dark room every month when the insurance agent arrives. This time, though, something unexpected happens.
Ayyoubinejad’s short has previously participated in various international festivals, including the 2019 Busan International Short Film Festival in South Korea, the 2018 Lifft India | Filmotsav-World Cine Fest, and the 21st Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de Vila-real in Spain.
An environmental and human rights fest, the LAOIFF aims to raise public awareness on the risks of exploitation and the alternatives to fossil fuels.
The 6th edition of the LAOIFF is slated for September 12-21, 2019.
