Iranian television series ‘Tales of Kamal’ is set to air on Iranian national television in early November.
Directed by Qodratollah Solhmirzaee, the first season of the series will be aired in 31 episodes with the second season currently in the works.
Shot in the famous Ghazali Cinema Town, ‘Tales of Kamal’ is a literary adaptation from a book written by Mohammad Mirkiani of the same name.
Produced by Mohsen Shayanfar, the story is set in 1960s Iran and revolves around the life of a teenage hero by the name of Kamal.
Among the cast are familiar names such as Mahmoud Pakniyyat, Shohreh Lorestani, Hamid Ebrahimi, Shahram Abdoli, Bijan Banafsheh-Khah, Felor Nazari, and Ramin Nasser-Nassir.
Solhmirzaee began his filmmaking career with short movies, eventually making his directorial debut with the 1993 feature film ‘Golden Hawk’.
Prior to entering the world of filmmaking, Solhmirzaee wrote novels for children and teenagers.
The director has many films and series in his resume, including the 2011 series ‘The Window’ which was recently aired on ifilm.
