The International Children and Adolescents Theater Festival in Iran has set to host works from seven foreign countries at its 26th edition.
The Director of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Hamedan, Ahmed-Reza Ehsani, said on Saturday that 52 plays from 13 Iranian provinces and seven foreign countries were accepted and will be performed at the upcoming edition of the event.
He added that 303 works were submitted to this year’s edition of the festival, marking a 20 percent increase from the last year’s figure.
Noting that 20 editions of the festival were held in Hamedan, the official said the participating plays will be performed in the province’s capital and eight of its counties in order to provide those area’s children with the opportunity to enjoy the plays.
Referring to the motto of this year’s edition “Child, Theater and Nature”, Ehsani noted that the work most related to the motto would receive a special prize.
Headed by Majid Qannad, the 26th International Children and Adolescents Theater Festival will be held in Hamedan on November 7-12, 2019.
