Iranian movie ‘Driving lessons’ has grabbed an award at the Ojai Film Festival in US.
Directed by Marzieh Riahi and written by Marjan Riahi, the film won the best feature short award at the 2019 edition of the event.
The film’s cast is made up of actors Linda Kiani, Alireza Thanifar, Salar Khamseh, and Sanaz Mesbah.
“Bahareh must have her traditional chauvinistic husband accompany her during driving lessons so that she and her instructor are not left together without a third party’s presence,” a synopsis for the film reads.
The short has previously competed at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland, the Cartagena Film Festival in Colombia, the Tribeca Film Festival in the US, and the Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada.
The 20th edition of the festival is currently underway from October 31 – November 10, 2019.
