The Houston Iranian Film Festival has scheduled to host Iranian short ‘Driving Lessons’.
Marzieh Riahi’s ‘Driving Lessons’ will be screening the 27th edition of the American film event.
The 13-minute short is about a young girl named Bahareh who must have her traditional controlling husband accompany her on driving lessons so she and her male instructor would not be alone.
The film has already attended and won awards at various international events including, the jury’s special award at the Film Festival for Women’s Rights in South Korea, the best short drama award at the “I Will Tell” international film festival in the UK and the best film award at the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.
According to an earlier report, a number of eight other Iranian works are also planned to screen at this cultural event.
The upcoming edition of the Houston Iranian Film Festival is slated for January 17-26, 2020.
