ifva Awards to host Iran short ‘Mandatory’

Iranian short ‘Mandatory’ is to attend the ifva Awards in China.

Iranian short film ‘Mandatory’ has been scheduled to attend the ifva Awards in China.

Written and directed by Mohammad-Javad Khorsha, the 15-minute film will be competing at the 25th edition of the Chinese event which will be held in Hong Kong.

‘Mandatory’ narrates the story of a soldier in firing squad who has been caught in a dilemma. Between morality and work responsibility, he does not know which one to pick.

Soheil Karamyar, Soheil Qannadan, Armin Boshrouyeh and Fatemeh Radmanesh are among the cast members of the flick.

The film is also slated to be screened at the 15th Vancouver Island Short film Festival in Canada.

According to the official website of the ifva, this edition of the awards ceremony is looking for the “hidden power of creativity, just like a little body could harbor a great soul to embrace whatever happened around the world, and chase any dreams that you’ve ever imagined!”

The 25th ifva Awards is slated for February 26-March 7, 2020.
