Iranian short film ‘Driving Lessons’ has been selected to vie at the 12th Elles Tournent Festival in Brussels.
“Bahareh must have her traditional chauvinistic husband accompany her during driving lessons so that she and her instructor are not left together without a third party’s presence,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Written by Marjan Riahi, the film’s cast is made up of actors Linda Kiani, Alireza Sanifar, Salar Khamseh, and Sanaz Mesbah.
Directed by Marzieh Riahi, the short has previously competed at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland, the Cartagena Film Festival in Colombia, the Tribeca Film Festival in the US, and the Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada.
The 12th edition of the Elles Tournent Festival is dedicated to films made by women.
The fest will be held on January 23-26, 2020.
