Iran’s ‘Room no. 13’ to vie at US fest

Iranian short ‘Room no. 13’ is to compete at the Queen Palm Int’l filmfest in the US.

Iranian short ‘Room no. 13’ has been selected to compete at the 2020 Queen Palm International Film Festival (QPIFF) in the US.

‘Room no. 13’ is among the 2nd quarter official selections of the 2020 edition of the festival.

The short is about a writer who sees herself as a character engaged in the story that she is writing.

Directed by Kasra Tirsahar, the 13-minute flick has competed at a number of film festivals, including the Lift-Off Global Network Sessions in the UK, the New York Film Academy in the US and the Indogma Film Festival in India.

The short title garnered Best Audience Award at the Lift-Off, the Jury Award at the New York Film Academy and the Best Film Award at the Indogma.

The cast of the film includes Farshad Faal and Ghazal Rahavard.

The QPIFF is a quarterly festival that includes film, music, and screenwriting competitions.

It also has an annual live screening in California that presents a vast array of awards for different genres and categories.

All quarterly winners receive their awards and among them, those who received Gold Awards will compete at the annual competition.
