“On a night, Talaat, a young girl, is at home with her mother and brother. Before going to bed the young girl recounts a frightening tale to her brother. So, he is too scared to get water from the kitchen. Therefore, Talaat goes to get the water. But when she returns to the room, her mother and brother have disappeared. Suddenly, a woman and a man unknown to her enter the room. Who are they? And then Talaat finds out the truth,” a synopsis for the film reads.
‘Slow Death’ has been selected to go on screen at several festivals, including the Termeh 4th Iranian Cultural Festival in Germany, the 17th Une Nuit Trop Courte in France, the 2020 Pune International Film Festival in India, the 15th Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria and the 2019 East Northeast International Film Festival in the US.
The short title has been crowned the Best Film at the Eurasia International Monthly Film Festival in Russia.
Started in 2013, the Short Film Breaks aims to connect hard to reach audience (people in remote villages) and hard to distribute films (independent short films).
‘Slow Death’ will go on the Romanian screen in May 2020.
