Iran’s short ‘Funfair’ vying in Spain

Iranian short film ‘Funfair’ is vying at the 2020 MCIP festival in Spain.

Iranian short film ‘Funfair’ has been vying at the 29th edition of the International Cinema Show of Palencia (Muestra de Cine Internacional de Palencia) (MCIP) in Spain.

Directed by Kaveh Mazaheri, the Iran-Canada co-production narrates the story of a young married couple and their 5-year-old kid.

The three of them are grabbling with financial issues the father of the family has brought upon them.

“Majid, a financially struggling man, comes up with a ploy in order to better the life of his wife Sara,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The flick has previously claimed some international awards, including a Special Mention at the Winchester Film Festival in the UK and the Best Screenplay award at the Court en Scene film festival in France.

Sonia Sanjari, Soroush Saeedi and Artin Rabiee are among the cast of the film.

The MCIP festival is organized by the Association Friends of the film and the Popular University of Palencia.

The 2020 MCIP has been slated for February 28- March 7.
