Saints and Sinners Film Festival to host 'Malakout’

Iranian animation ‘Malakout’ is to attend Saints and Sinners Filmfest in US.

Iranian animation ‘Malakout’ has been slated to attend the Saints and Sinners Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the short flick will be in competition at the Sinners Shorts section of the 3rd edition of the American film event.

A brief synopsis for the flick reads, “The angle of death has come to reap the life of a pianist’s wife. The man, however, make a deal with the angle to give his hands to save his wife’s life”.

“Music was his passion… Love was his masterpiece…”, reads a tagline for the short.

‘Malakout’ has already attended a number of film events and won awards, including the Special Mention Short award at the Silk Road International Film Festival in Ireland.

The film will be soon attending some other international events such as the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Mexico.

Launched in 2002, the festival aims to be a platform for the short films to screen.

The latest edition of the the three-day event will be held on April 17-19, 2020.
