Iran animation on COVID-19 to attend Grounded filmfest

The Grounded filmfest in the UK is to host Iran short ‘Once Upon a time in the World’.

The 2020 edition of the Grounded Film Festival in the UK has been scheduled to host Iranian short animation ‘Once Upon a time in the World’.

Directed by Babak Beigi, the 3-minute animation will be in contention at the first edition of the British event.

‘Once Upon a time in the World’ is the story of the excruciating fight doctors and nurses are having against the coronavirus pandemic where they risk their lives to save their patients.

It also shows how all their hard works remain futile when the people behave recklessly and do not help to stop the global life-threatening issue.

A brief synopsis for the flick reads, “A Western Gunfight, Coronavirus vs. nurse”.

Coronavirus appeared first in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December and has since spread globally.

The World Health Organization has declared it a global health emergency.

The Grounded Film Festival is a free to enter and a part of a bigger event named the Marbella International Film Festival.

It aims to provide a record of the unusual times caused by coronavirus; the times that people have to isolate themselves and stay at home.

The festival accepts films from any genres and languages that are between 2 to 15 minutes.

The awarding ceremony of the festival will be held in October 2020.
