German Int’l Ethnographic Film to host ‘Baraka, the Cow’

German International Ethnographic Film Festival is to host ‘Baraka, the Cow’ from Iran.

The German (Göttingen) International Ethnographic Film Festival (GIEFF) is set to play host to ‘Baraka, the Cow’.

Directed by Komeil Soheili, the 2019 short production will be vying at the “Iranian Impressions” section of the 15th edition of GIEFF.

‘Baraka, the Cow’ is the winners of Filmaka's 6th Documentary competition. It also attended the 5th Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Nigeria. 

Soheili is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and producer with extensive experience on movies. His work has appeared on BBC, National Geographic and VPRO.

Iranian documentary ‘Love in Close-Up’ written, directed and produced by Iman Behrouzi will also present Iran at the Women’s Perspective section of the German event.

The festival promotes documentary cinema with a special emphasis on new films, videos or interactive media dealing with socio-cultural processes in a wide sense of the term.

The latest edition of GIEFF will hold online on May 13-17, 2020.
