As the holy month of Ramadan is the time for Muslims to reconnect and try their faith, the series that are aired during this month have a theme on such related topics of fasting, good morals and surrendering to Allah.
‘Hereafter’, ‘It was an Angel’ and ‘Coma’ are among those productions which have tried to present bad and evil using spiritual characters. They have personified the devil and the angels to help viewers see the consequences of all their deeds, whether good or bad.
‘The Forbidden Fruit’, ‘Injury’ and ‘Day of Envy’ have also been aired by the channel and gained popularity among ifilmers. The plot of each one of these series zero in on a human morality such as brotherhood and faithfulness. ‘The Forbidden Fruit’, for example, the old pious man who has been living an honest life must now take a test of faith when a younger lady tries to entice him.
This year, ifilm also presented the series ‘The Spiritualist’ directed by Mohammad-Hossein Latifi. This one, too, takes benefit of the stories of the holy Quran. The characters in the series are close analogies to the ones in the holy book.
