VIVA filmfest to host Iranian ‘Branches and Brushes’

Iran’s ‘Branches and Brushes’ is to attend the VIVA filmfest in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Iranian short title ‘Branches and Brushes’ has been selected to attend the VIVA Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Directed by Komeil Soheili, the short film will be in running at the Religious Film competition category of the 6th edition of the Bosnian event.

No detail on the story of the 11-minute flick has been released to the media yet.

The short title has already attended a number of international events, including the Asia Peace Film Festival in Pakistan where the film was shortlisted among the finalists.

Soheili seems to be a promising name in the realm of filmmaking as he has so far made films that have won honors.

He was nominated for best director at the 34th Fajr Film Festival for ‘Freedom’, won best documentary research and plot for ‘Sacrifice’ at the Sama Film Festival in Iran, and attended the International Roshd Film Festival for ‘Laleh Complex’.

The VIVA Film Festival is an annual event on promotion of documentary works.

It consists of three categories: ecology, tourism and religion.

The 2020 edition of the festival is scheduled for September 16-20.
