The 15th edition of the FIFOG has Kaveh Mazaheri’s short flick in competition at its Gold and Silver award category.
The 15-minute short narrates the story of a young married couple, their 5-year-old kid and their financial problems.
“Majid, a financially struggling man, comes up with a ploy in order to better the life of his wife, Sara. But, will he be able to improve the situation? Will Sara have the patience needed?”, reads a brief synopsis for the flick.
The cast list of the short includes Sonia Sanjari, Soroush Saeedi and Artin Rabiei.
So far, the film has attended a number of fests and gained global honors. The special mention of the Winchester Film Festival in the UK, the Best Screenplay Award at the Scene film festival as well as the Non-European Dramatic Short Award at the European Independent Film Festival in France and the Best International Short Film at the Foyle Film Festival in the UK are among the successes gained by ‘Funfair’.
The FIFOG is an important cinematographic event in the cultural landscape of French-speaking Switzerland, which promotes cinema, diversity and intercultural dialogue. It annually presents 100 films of all genres, along with about 60 guests from around the world.
The 15th edition of the event, which is holding online, kicked off on June 4 and will be running till June 16, 2020.
