Iranian short film ‘The Stain’ to go to US

The Ojai Film Festival in the US is to host Iranian short ‘The Stain’.

Iranian short title ‘The Stain’ has been selected to compete at the 21st edition of the Ojai Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Shouresh Vakili, the 12-minute flick is about an ex-soldier who works in a movie theater.

He tries to remove a blood stain that appears on screen every time a war film is played.

But the more he fights with the stain, the bigger it gets until it drips onto the floor and leaves a puddle.

‘The Stain’ has been screened at some global events, including the "One Shot" International Short Film Festival in Armenia and "The Wild West" FreedomFest 2019 in the US.

Slated to compete at the 3rd PressPlay film festival in the US, the flick has won awards such as Best Short Film award at the 2020 Small Axe film festival in the UK and Best Social Shorts Films prize at the 4th Solidando Film Festival in Italy.

The Ojai festival aims to provide opportunities for filmmakers and for the enthusiastic audience.

It receives a diverse lineup of works from around the world.

This edition of the event is slated for November 5-15, 2020.
