Bulgaria’s Golden Kuker to host Iran’s ‘Greyish’

Iran short ‘Greyish’ is to attend the Int’l Animation Filmfest- Golden Kuker in Bulgaria.

Iranian animation ‘Greyish’ has been selected to take part at the International Animation Film Festival (IAFF) - Golden Kuker Sofia in Bulgaria.

Written and directed by Eqbal Shirzaee-Sani, the animation depicts the various stages in the life of an old man as a metaphor for other’s lives.

‘Greyish’ has taken part at several global events, including Italy’s Cartoon Club International Festival of Animation Cinema, Comics and Games, Canada’s Edmonton International Film Festival, the St. Louis International Film Festival in the US, the 15th European Independent Film Festival in France, the 2020 Crystal Palace International Film Festival in the UK, the 20th deadCENTER Film Festival in the US, the 22nd annual Maryland Film Festival in the US, the ANIMAYO GRAN CANARIA 2020 in Spain, and the 12th Montevideo Fantastic Film Festival in Uruguay where it was nominated for Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film.

Launched in 2010 in Sofia, the Golden Kuker is the first animation film festival in Bulgaria.

The IAFF is a platform to showcase the best of global and Bulgarian animations aiming at promoting the creativity of this art.

This year’s edition of the IAFF will hold on August 1-5, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This Side, Other Side’ by Lida Fazli is the other Iranian representative at the Bulgarian event.
