Iran’s Mehr news agency reported on Thursday that ‘Malakout’ was named the best short film at the Spanish event.
Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the film is about a pianist who tries to bring his wife back to life but a related deal awakens the devil inside him.
“Music was his passion. Love was his masterpiece,” a synopsis for ‘Malakout’ reads.
Last month the film garnered two awards at the Florida Animation Festival of the US.
The animation also received an honorary diploma at the Silk Road International Film Festival in Ireland and the best animation award at the Black Country Horror Shorts Film Festival in the UK.
The Cryptshow Festival promotes fantasy and horror genres.
The 14th edition of the Cryptshow Festival is currently underway in Barcelona and will run until July 31.
