One Country One Film to host Iran’s ‘The Other’

Iran short ‘The Other’ is to compete at the One Country One Film Int’l Filmfest in France.

Iranian short film ‘The Other’ has been picked for screening at the One Country One Film Apchat-Issoire International Film Festival in France.

Co-directed by Ako Zand-Karimi and Saman Hosseinpour, the short film will join the competition program of the 11th edition of the event. This screening of the movie counts as its premiere in France.

‘The Other’ narrates the story of a traditional man who following his wife's death suspects her, thinking his wife had an affair with another man.

His condition worsens when he suspects her daughter belonging to the other man.

The cast list of the flick includes Mohammad Potki, Mohammad Bidaq-Beigi, Asieh Moradizar, and Shiva Soufi-Mahmoudi.

The film has been already screened at various global events and grabbed awards, including the Best Silent Film at the Venice Intercultural Film Festival in Italy and the Best Cinematography at the Int’l Film and Music Festival Kustendorf in Serbia.

‘The One Country One Film’ Int’l Film Festival is an event being held in two different venues of Apchat and Issoire in France.

This year’s edition of the event, which accepts works in various categories of short, feature and children films, is slated for August 31-September 06, 2020.
