The Brazilian filmfest is screening Iranian short film ‘The Other’.

The 31st edition of the Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival in Brazil is currently screening internationally acclaimed Iranian short film ‘The Other’.

‘The Other’, co-directed by Ako Zand-Karimi and Saman Hosseinpour, is representing Iran along with two other Iranian shorts ‘Weekend’ and ‘Funfair’ at the event.

‘The Other’ is the story of a traditional man who suspects his dead wife of having had an affair with another man. Things get worse when he begins to suspect that her daughter may also belong to that man.

The cast list of the flick includes Mohammad Potki, Mohammad Bidaq-Beigi, Asieh Moradizar, and Shiva Soufi-Mahmoudi.

The film has been already screened at various global events and grabbed awards, including the Best Silent Film at the Venice Intercultural Film Festival in Italy and the Best Cinematography at the Int’l Film and Music Festival Kustendorf in Serbia.

The ISFF has a non-competitive nature aiming to elevate the cultural exchange between Latin American and international productions.

This year’s edition of the ISFF is currently underway online and will run until August 30.
