‘A Gramophone in the Dark’ to be screened at German fest

Iranian short ‘A Gramophone in the Dark’ is to go on screen at the 2021 Bastalavista Int’l Genre filmfest in Germany.

Iranian short ‘A Gramophone in the Dark’ has been selected to go on screen at the third edition of the Bastalavista International Genre Film Festival (Bastalavista IGGF) in Germany.

Directed by Amir-Shahab Mehdizadeh, the short film is an adaptation of Hemingway’s short story 'The Killers'.

Also written by Mehdizadeh, the short film narrates the story of two murderers that enter a lunchroom to kill one of the frequent customers of the café. But the customer is not coming to the café that night.

The cast of the short film includes Alireza Vaqef, Shaban Sadeqi, and Amir-Hossein Bali.

Established in 2019, the Bastalavista IGGF welcomes films from different genres, including science-fiction, fantasy, horror, action, thriller, mystery, or dark comedy.

To be held on May 14, 2021, the festival will offer valuable networking opportunities.
