Italy’s Mareta filmfest honors Iran doc ‘Howling’

Iran’s short ‘Howling’ is hailed at the Matera filmfest in Italy.

Iranian short documentary ‘Howling’ has been hailed at the Matera Film Festival in Italy.

The short film, directed by Parsa Bozorgani, received the Jury Special Mention at the documentary section of the Italian fest’s first edition.

‘Howling’ is about the stray dogs in Iran.

The film has been screened at a number of global events, including the International Shorts Film Festival in Australia, the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic, and the Scout Film Festival in the US.

Competing at the Khorshid Independent Film Festival in Iran brought the short film the second position among the award-winning titles of the event.

Iranian short ‘Slaughter’ has also been awarded the Best Short Film at the Mareta Film Festival.

The first edition of the Italian filmfest was held on September 24-26, 2020.
