Iranian ‘Violet Field’ to go on screen in Turkey

Iran's ‘Violet Field’ is to go on screen at the 2020 Antakya Film Festival in Turkey.

Iranian short flick ‘Violet Field’ has been selected to go on screen at the 8th edition of the Antakya Film Festival in Turkey.

Directed by Abtin Salimi-Tari and written by Iman Afsharian, the short film narrates the story of a girl named Reyhaneh whose grandmother, Aziz, is in the deathbed.

When Reyhaneh, whose grandmother is her only friend, becomes distressed, Rahman, her father, decides to transfer Aziz to a health clinic in another village.

The cast of the film includes Fatemeh Heidari, Aqdas Mazaherzadeh, Iman Afsharian, Hamed Abrishami, and Mohammad-Reza Aletaha.

The Antakya Film Festival hosts cinema professionals from around the world and reaches 500,000 viewers every year.

The event provides a public forum in Antakya to show the power of independent filmmakers.

This edition of the festival will take place on October 16-22, 2020.
