Iranian ‘Lover’ to go to Erzincan filmfest

Iran’s ‘Lover’ is to vie at the Erzincan Int’l Film Festival in Turkey.

The Erzincan International Short Film Festival (EISFF) in Turkey has been set to screen Iranian short flick ‘Lover’.

Directed by Mohammad Sorayya, the short film is announced in the lineup of the 2nd edition of the Turkish event.

The short film, a coproduction of Iranian Youth Cinema Society and the director, is about a forester who has been asked, “Can a forester kill a wolf?”.

His response to the inquiry has been, “Yes, he just needs to be a lover”.

The only cast member of ‘Lover’ is Kourosh Shadabfar.

The film has been screened at a number of film events, including the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival in the US and the International Short Film Festival in Iran.

Launched in 2019, the EISFF holds workshops, screenings, and interviews and hosts filmmakers from around the world.

The 2020 edition of the festival is scheduled for October 19-23.
