Iranian ‘The Rotation’ to compete in the US

Iranian animation ‘The Rotation’ is to compete at the 2020 Fort Lauderdale Int’l Film Festival in the US.

Iranian animation ‘The Rotation’ has been selected to compete at the 35th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) in the US.

Directed and produced by Hazhir Asadi, the 7-minute animation shows two tribes that engage in a tug-of-war to possess the sun and moon.

Neither side can defeat the other. Their conflict wreaks havoc on the earth’s climate.

An eventual ceasefire brings temporary stability and harmony until unexpected events renew the cycle of conflict and destruction.

It is a film about the futility of war and the folly of human efforts to dominate nature.

Also scheduled for competition at the Ojai Film Festival in the US in November, ‘The Rotation’ has so far gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Animasyros Festival in Greece and the Girona Film Festival in Spain.

The FLIFF features great films from around the world. In-theater films, drive-in movies, and a boat-in event are among the festival’s programs.

The 35th FLIFF will be held in a hybrid form on November 5-22, 2020.
