Santa Fe filmfest to screen Iranian ‘Inner Self’

The 21st Santa Fe Film Festival in the US is to screen Iran’s ‘Inner Self’.

The 21st edition of the Santa Fe Film Festival in the US has been scheduled to screen Iranian short flick ‘Inner Self’.

Directed by Mohammad Hormozi, the 15-minute flick follows the story of a female violinist who wants to enter an office but as she is not attired appropriately for the place, she must stay in the waiting room.

While waiting, the young woman copes with her frustration by composing a new piece.

An unexpected ally is moved by her performance and provides a last-minute solution to the violinist’s predicament.

Set to participate in the Taos Shortz Film Fest in the US this March, the short flick won a special mention at the Akbank Short Film Festival in Turkey and the award for best narrative short title at the Fayetteville Film Fest in the US.

‘Inner Self’ has also gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Ojai Film Festival in the US, the International Short Film Festival – Film Front in Serbia, the Grand Off film festival in Poland, the Mediawave International Film Festival in Hungary, the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh,

The five-day Santa Fe Film Festival is a celebration of the best cinematic arts from around the world.

A statement published on the website of the festival reads, “Our annual event honors everyone working both on and off screen to bring the best of film creation, production and showings to the public. We constantly seek improvement in our line of respective crafts and provide filmmakers with resources to pursue their dreams further”.

The 21st edition of the Santa Fe Film Festival is slated for February 17-21, 2021.
