Held on Friday at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran, the ceremony was attended by Revayat Cultural Foundation director Mohammad-Yashar Naderi, the director of the festival Masoud Nejabati, and a number of artists attended the event.
Nejabati said “The resistance art is a trust we have received from the masters and veterans of the art of the Islamic Revolution and we have tried to preserve it. We will preserve the art of resistance as long as there are wars, battles and blasphemy around the world.”
The forum, observing health protocols and social distancing, put on display a top selection of artworks, including poster, sculpture, typography, illustration, cartoon, and caricature by artists from more than 50 countries.
The lifetime achievement awards of the gala went to painters Abbas Saki and Mohammad-Ali Rajabi-Davani, graphic designer Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz, photographer Abbas Mirhashemi, and cartoonist Mohammad-Hossein Salavatian.
The awards for best painter and best sculptor were presented to Tahmoures Ashenagar and Nasrin Shapouri, respectively.
Karim Motaqqi was awarded as the best photographer and Mohammad-Mehdi Dorani won the award for best artist in the Health Defenders section.
The graphic design section honored Mehdi Mostafavi, Ehsan Sanaeerad, Sediqeh Ahmadi, Maryam Mousavi, and Haleh Vojdani.
Saeed Sadeqi received the award for best cartoonist and the award for best illustrator went to Mehdi Parastar.
Mahboubeh Javadipour won the best artist award in the typography section.
The flags and epigraph section honored Majid Keshavarzi, Mohammad-Saber Sheikh-Rezaee, and Mojtaba Hassanzadeh.
The Sixth International Art Festival of Resistance, organized by Revayat Cultural Foundation, was held on February 8-19, 2021.
