‘Nahid’ to go on screen at Fribourg filmfest

The Fribourg Int’l filmfest in Switzerland is to host Iranian ‘Nahid’.

The Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) in Switzerland has been set to host Iranian short flick ‘Nahid’.

Directed by Samad Alizadeh, the 14-minute film will hit the screen at the 35th edition of the Swiss event.

‘Nahid’ narrates the story of a woman who, following her mother’s death, publishes her photo in the funeral leaflet.

Her action causes tumult in her family and leads to clashes between the woman and her brother.

Laya Mirnasiri, Firouz Aqeli, Shahrzad Shakourian, Mehdi Heidari, Nasrin Khorram, and Parisa Sohrabi are some of the flick’s cast members.

The Media Kiasat film distributing company is in charge of the film’s international release.

The film was premiered at the Tehran International Film Festival where it won the best screenplay award.

The FIFF “aims to promote the understanding between cultures through films. It gives preferences to productions that stimulate reflection and provoke discussion”, states the official website of the fest.

This year’s edition of the fest is slated for July 16-25.
