Genius comic actor Charlie Chaplin makes a comeback to the silver screen a hundred years after his first feature film ‘The Kid’.
French film company mk2 and international distributor Piece of Magic will release the restored version of ‘The Kid’ in 4K.
Some of the silent comic’s best-known movies will also be restored and released in cinemas worldwide.
“In 1921 ‘The Kid’ confirmed Chaplin’s stardom and extraordinary skills in the art of cinema,” mk2 Chief Executive Nathanaël Karmitz said in a statement.
Karmitz added, “It is fitting that this year in partnership with Piece of Magic we return Chaplin to cinemas around the world and continue to maintain the legacy of his work, celebrating its modernity and emotions that live on today.”
New posters and trailers will also be created to mark the centennial of Chaplin’s first feature-length film.
