Italian embassy to journey from Tehran to Rome

Italian Embassy in Tehran launches new video series named 'From Tehran to Rome, a journey through art'.

A new video-series featuring key representatives of the Italian and Iranian modern and contemporary art scene has been inaugurated at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in Tehran, Giuseppe Perrone.

The video series dubbed “From Tehran to Rome, a journey through art” is a series of seven monographic episodes produced by the Italian Embassy in Tehran in cooperation with Iranian artists Yasmin Zandieh and Ehsan Ronagh.

The series will introduce seven modern and contemporary artists whose training and background have been profoundly influenced by both countries' art culture.

A short presentation video and the first episode of the series, focusing on the Italian-Iranian artist Bizhan Bassiri, were screened on the occasion of the project’s inauguration in the Italian residence’s garden in Tehran's Farmanieh.

This new initiative’s goal, as put by Ambassador Perrone, is to highlight the depth of the cultural connection between Italy and Iran, particularly in the field of fine arts, where both countries can boast very old and solid ties.

The screening was followed by a debate focusing on the role of artists in today’s society and the importance of cultural diplomacy.
