Kanab Int’l filmfest to host Iranian ‘Mandatory’

Iranian short ‘Mandatory’ is to compete at the Kanab Int’l Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short flick ‘Mandatory’ has been selected to compete at the 2021 edition of the Kanab International Film in the US.

Written and directed by Mohammad-Javad Khoursha, the short title narrates the story of a soldier on the firing squad who has been caught in a dilemma.

Between morality and work responsibility, he does not know which one to pick.

Soheil Karamyar, Soheil Qannadan, Armin Boshrouyeh, and Fatemeh Radmanesh are among the cast members of the flick.

The short film has participated in a number of film festivals, including the 6th TweetFest Film Festival in the UK, the 2020 Visioni Corte Film Festival in Italy, the 2020 Ojai Film Festival in the US, the 2020 Charlotte Film Festival, the 6th Burien Film Festival in the US, and the 2020 Vancouver Island Short Film Festival in Canada.

The Kanab Film Festival aims to provide new filmmakers with a platform to showcase their films.

The third edition of the event will be held on April 29-May 2, 2021.
