Iranian people of Arab ethnicity in the western part of the country have a special ritual for brewing and drinking Arabic coffee.
Iranian Arabs in southern province of Khuzestan have developed a distinctive method for brewing and preparing coffee.
Here is how to prepare this type of coffee:
1.Roast green coffee beans in a container named al-Mahmas.
2. Crush the beans with a mortar
3.Toss the mashed mixture in boiling water and add fragrant spices such as cinnamon
Once the coffee is ready, the guests signal by moving their cups to have coffee or a refill of that.
You should drink the strong Arabic coffee bitter before drinking tea with sugar as part of this Arab ritual which means sweetness comes after bitterness.
